Built-in trackers work because my neighbor's stolen car got recovered last month after police used the GPS data. Experts are being cynical about technology that literally saves vehicles. Yeah exactly this

why do we assume recovery matters more than prevention when trackers mainly help insurers, not owners? doesn't that reveal whose interests these systems actually serve?

honestly trackers dont always work because thieves know how to disable them, i learned this the hard way when my friends car got stolen and the gps was useless. ur better off with good insurance and parking in safe spots.

look, i watched a friend's tracker ping from some romanian chop shop for three weeks while police did nothing, so yeah experts are right-these things are basically expensive paperweights once thieves know what they're doing.

Look, trackers just don't work fast enough when thieves are determined. I had a friend whose GPS unit was disabled before police even got the alert, so yeah, don't rely on them alone.

Insurance data shows recovery rates for tracked vehicles plateau at 34 percent because thieves simply disable or remove the trackers in minutes. Why spend thousands on tech that's equally as vulnerable as the car itself?
